.the nine daughters of mnemosyne

Having gone through paintings, files, and prints, I discovered that I have over 150 finished art images of Thom, created over the course of five years or so.

I've been terribly sad lately at the thought of not having new images of him to paint, to draw, or photograph. I keep resolving to take my camera home, to photograph him more, or draw on him, accumulate more images with which to make more images.

If you've ever had a muse -archaic word, but it's apt- you'll know what I mean. What have I been chasing after in five years worth of renderings? He posesses so much grace in his movement, and not in the dancer sense, either.

There's a few artists here who use their close friends as inspiration. It's difficult. A photograph with a subject...well, I guess your goal is to have your message seen, through your model. But with your muse? It becomes a visual testament to this love you have. Not only do you want your message seen, but with each image, there's this attempt to make your audience understand why 150 images of Thom would never be enough.
