.sweat and countdowns

I saw them. I saw the feral horses. They were on the road, all different col0urs. Swaybacked, mostly light bays. Small. Stocky. They reared at the vehicles.
I've been tossed from crew to crew this week, and now I've finally settled down with Colleen, my old foreman. It's a good thing, my crew rules. I have been working my butt off...the end is in sight, and I can't slow down near the end. There's no time to relax, it seems. I'm either working or preparing to work. I'd rather it this way, with filthy hair and tanned arms. Three kilometre walk ins to blocks with no access have been trying and good all at the same time. These blocks are through the forest, you can't get to them from the road. We've been bushwhacking all week. The one block last week was situated near some carcass of an animal, so we saw bears and lynx all day. I talk way too much about the wildlife, but it's probably less scary than telling y'all how many coffees it takes to get me going in the morning, so near the end of this season. Ten days left, guys, it's a fortnight til I see you.
