.chevy astro

^ I just bid on eBay for one of those. I'm up too late, I'm twitchy, and I'm worried about my housing situation. I know I'm worried about my housing situation because I've spent the past hour formulating a fool proof plan to live in a vehicle...turns out that at York university, it's doable to the point of being practical. I've covered food, hygiene, adequate temperature maintenance, social accessability... With the exceptions of security and toilet facilities, it's no sweat, and the aforementioned issues can be surmounted by vigilant use of locks and location. I bet there's a club of hippies who just live on campus that way. Hell, I even looked up York parking regulations, and living in your vehicle is not prohibited.
I do this type of thing more than you'd imagine...make extensive plans for adverse/bizarre situations. I'm pretty much playing around, but it gets deep. Like,
-you're fourteen years old, you've just been kicked out of the house. You have a Sin card, warm clothing, and valid government ID. Using the resources alotted to you as a real person (ie, your human network, possible housing/food options) what do you do for your long and short term needs? OR
- You have been accidentally left in the woods. You have as much backwoods knowledge as the average citizen, and there is good cause to believe you will be picked up in the morning. What system of food and lodging do you conjure? In this case, it's
- you are a 20 year old university student with campus access to laundry, food, study/office areas, and health/financial resources. You do not, however, have access to adequate housing, nor is the budget available to rent an apartment. With the deadlines closing in and no hope of shelter in sight, what practical options do you have, for either short or long term?
So, uhh, I'd suggest that somebody find me an apartment soon. If living in a van is looking like a viable option, you know my situation is getting a bit off kilter. And if i come home with a $100.00 chevy astro, start looking up decorating books.

I second the no van sentiment.

jeez shannon, there's gotta be twenty million starving artists all willing to pitch in and live in ONE apartment in the Annex.

"how many roommates do you have?"
"A million... It was that or a van..."
