Firstup: happy 4th, Meags...you were in my thoughts all day, but I only just phoned you right now.
I've been in the darkroom for days...literally. I get up in the morning, go to the darkroom for 9:30 am, and I stay in there til 10:30 pm at earliest, or tonight 3:30 am. The cool thing? Photography has finally clicked. The whole semester I was frustrated, making bad prints, and no concepts. And now, finally, when it gets down to the wire, I understand making the image, using the darkroom, framing, lighting, everything. I used to hate making prints, but I'm looking forward to the next days in the darkroom. I cancelled all my shifts this week up til Saturday...I was a dork for trying to work this week anyway. This week, school comes before money.
I got my friend Roozbeh a Christmas gift. He is a special guy, and I bought him a sweet book. I'm just freaked out now, because I don't want him to be embarrassed by it. You know, someone gets you not even a present/prezzie but a gift, and you don't know what to do with it. Meags, advise. I figure wrapping it up in newspaper will help.
Had a two hour long discussion with my friend Hannah, about conservative Judaism (she's one)/religion. It started off with her asking me why I knew so much about Judaism. The girl is on crack, I know next to nothing...but I told her that all I knew was because I was Christian. so we talked about everything and Jesus for a couple of hours in the student advising office. She's no slouch about her knowledge of Christianity, either, which was awesome. We had this awesome discourse about translation. She offered to tutor me in Hebrew and Yiddish.
