Today is my last day off before the craziness of August hits, so I am taking the time to bike into town, about 15 miles away. I have water, soybean trail mix, my diary, and the anthology of Christian verse ( in case I should be run over and have 15 minutes to kill before God takes me home). It will be sweet, because Picton is the artsiest little summer town ever. I bought my first Doug Coupland book there. Today was overcast, a huge blessing considering how much I despise the hot, hot sun. I expect it will take me a long time to get to Picton, as well. I'm a leisure rider, not one of those crazy people who just ride 40k per day and think it's cupcakes.
Speaking of which, I have cut all sweets out of my diet in a sudden death bet with one of my coworkers. That means no cookies, ice cream, candy, chocolate, pop...considering they serve dessert twice a day, it's a tonne of temptation. But Iwill be better for it...that lil dude is going to LOSE. BIG TIME. I may slip hershey's kisses into his bed.
The work situation is the same, but Christ will give me super woman endurance. Seriously. He will. Anyone interested in my courses? they are...
- Jazz vocal
- critical issues in the studio (postmodern theory)
- Canadian authors in our time
- Introduction to women's studies and feminist theory
- elementary Yiddish
That's right, guys. YIDDISH.
