A long awaited (for maybe three people) post. The internet connection up here is limited at best, but I have chosen to come here instead of picking up the beer for booze day. Booze day is the name for night off up here. Yes, it is a drunk and rowdy bunch of good folk I live with.
Treeplanting is something I both love and loathe...I loathe waking up early knowing that at least 1200 trees must go in the ground before the day can be considered useful. I loathe sunstroke. I suggest you all avoid it. It's pukerama. I find it difficult not to internalize the job, because we eat sleep and breathe treeplanting.
I love standing on top of a huge rock face and looking beyond the clearcuts to see ten lakes and old forest for miles, and being able to say "this is my office."
I love sleeping like a rock every night in my tent, my seven hour respite from the bugs. Not spiders though, I've got about three in residence. They're biters, too.
Things I am neutral about: having to hold my pants up with duct tape and bungee cord so they don't fall down. The camp is about 40% cape breton boys, as well. They're great drinkers, but other things have rubbed off as well:S
Today we had a high risk of forest fire, and someone threw a cigarette out the bus window. Three of us jumped out to find the butt and crush it. Unable to find it, I said "There weren't nothing left to 'er, anyhow." Please, please, send me to grammar school.

much love babe, I haven't talked to you in a looong time. How are you and God? My blog is getting updated regularly, so that's a grand place to learn about me. Jobs, househunting and cooking are consuming my time.
you are north, I am about as far west as this country goes.
